Morning All
Copenhagen Day goodness knows what, as you can probably tell it wasn’t a good night’s sleep, don’t know why just didn’t sleep very well. I eventually hauled myself up at 6.30 a.m. an hour after I should have been and after my shower, two cups of tea of tea it was time to try and get dressed. If I am going to come out here even more I am going to have to get into a routine of ironing all my shirts as soon as I arrive as it’s a real pain in the a... er neck ironing the shirt each morning. The problem is not the ironing part I can do that, had plenty of practise all the hotels I have been in but the damn stupid little ironing board they provide that is a built in feature of the wardrobe, you have to sort of stand half in and half out of the said wardrobe and it only works well if you are left a handed dwarf. Even right handed dwarves would find it a struggle. I was going to go down to reception and complain but somehow the fact a man is stood their complaining about the set up of an ironing board I am sure make me look like some kind of “friend or Dorethy’s” or whatever the saying is for a gentleman of the other persuasion and as I am most definitely not, despite like the odd musical, I will continue to climb in and out of the wardrobe each morning.
Now yesterday I didn’t partake in any breakfast so by lunchtime was feeling a little peckish and had to relent and go to the local canteen or restaurant they call them all these days and get a sandwich, it cost 20 Krona and when you divide that by 8 Krona to the pound it comes out at expensive but i relented, so today thought on the way to work one of my work colleagues, I should say one of the blokes who very rarely goes to the same office as me, said he sometimes gets a salad bowl from the railway station shop and thought this morning as I had had no breakfast yet again I would get something for lunch.
BLOODY 75 KRONA!!!!!! Are they having a laugh, for a bit of lettuce, tomata and a couple of things i am not sure what they were. I almost actually fainted in the shop and used the excuse to get out of their for some air or diesel fumes as I was at the station. What planet are some shops on when you can get a whole lettuce, tomato and strange bits for about a pound. Needless to say I have no lunch and will be waiting till I get back to the hotel for tea and the four pounds worth of shopping I did at the Lidl on Monday and the couple of tins of Tuna I brought with me in my case, that is plenty to last me all week of teas. I am having no lunch on principle, sometimes one has to make a stand against this sort of thing.
On the way in on the train I met one of the guys who works in an office down the corridor, a German guy who has been travelling to Copenhagen for a year. Did concern me a little, whilst I like to travel and visit places I don’t want Copenhagen to become my 2nd home and certainly not the hotel. Also concerned I would become a Lidl addict if that is the only place to do my shopping.
Also for the record the saxophonist was not at work today so cannot report if he is actually playing anything I know.
So as I have arrived at work it would be the decent thing to knuckle down and do some. So update over for now.
