Day 25 - Dunkirk

After yesterday’s short blog, mainly cause I was so tired and not surprisingly everything seemed to take ages to do, the journey from Brussels to Dunkirk seemed to take ages to drive.  On that point this week I have been given a ford fiesta which is not as bad as it sounds, it is quite a nice little car and quite pleased with it.  When I was collecting it the guy at Avis did offer me a Mercedes E Class but I am sure my expenses wouldn’t cover that.
But back to today and it was a 07:30 start after a good night’s sleep and a leisurely breakfast of a bowl of all bran and a cup of tea.
My future meals look to be interesting as there is a big stink on here about some Dutch firm that has been supplying France with meat that turns out to be from drugged horses or something like that.  Personally I think it is bad news for the Tuna fish as it is about the only food I think I fancy at the moment.  Until that is they start telling us they have laced it with sea horses.
Another busy day at work at Dunkirk and it seemed to be 6.00 p.m. at no time.  I had a lot of work I wanted to get through in the hotel but after spending all night in my room I decided I could allow myself an hour off to have a walk around so at 7.30 I met one of my colleagues and we set off.
Outside of the hotel I asked him where he would like to walk and he replied, I need to go to a supermarket and was told there was one just past the 3 Brassiers Pub so we set off.  At 9.00 p.m. we arrived at the supermarket, we had taken a few wrong turns  and he had tried to ask a local but got completely ignored, maybe we should have tried our ello ello French. So we found it and I watched him walk around getting his little presents for his family.  If mine are reading this, there wasn’t anything nice so I didn’t bother.
We set off back and got back to the hotel at 10:30 so three hours after we set off and probably walked about 10 miles.  Still, it was much needed exercise.  But it also meant that when I got back to the hotel I had some work to do so it was a late night and that late night is just finishing so
So it is now goodnight all.
