Day 69 - Home to Luxemburg - The Big Band Sound

It has been back on the road this morning  but after a fantastic three days I feel refreshed and ready to tackle the job again.
The past three days have been spent at the Download Festival and it was one hell of a time, roll on next year, looking forward to it already.
But back to today and this morning it was a bit of a stuttered start, I set the alarm for 4.45 a.m. with a view to hitting the road at about 5.30 a.m. however the alarm went off and I seemed to manage to fall back asleep and was really lucky to wake up at 5.30 and with a bit of a rush i was in the car only 30 minutes late and with good traffic on the way to Birmingham I was there more or less on time.  The usual plane journey to Brussels was spent asleep as i tried to catch up on a bit of missed sleep we had had over the weekend and in no time it was time to pick up the car for the week.  This time I got a Mercedes C Class which is quite nice but more importantly is an automatic geared car and it always takes me a little while to get used to it.  Also this week I am travelling with my UK colleague who has accompanied me to Romania and Czech Republic to name just a few and the one who suffered the last time I had an automatic and I am afraid to say, I did the same thing again, I pushed the brake with my left foot which meant we did stop a bit quick.  Another problem I encountered was trying to find the parking brake which until I got it sussed I had to get out and then try to push the car to see if it would move.  Not something they normally let you do on the driving test.
When we arrived at the hotel in Luxemburg at gone 5.30 p.m. it was time to do some work and was not expecting to go out but at 9.00 p.m. I had done as much as I could do and decided to meet up with my colleague and we had a walk and found the local town centre and I must admit I have changed my opinion of Lux.  It is very quaint, still not as modern as I thought a financial centre would be but it is a lovely oldie world centre with a square which was hosting a big band tonight and we had a really nice time listening to that for a while.  I also took some pics and a video so will try to post that onto the blog.  There seems to be some lovely buildings that we passed including a church with a group sitting outside singing hymns which was quite nice.
There was also some nice views we found as we walked toward the centre which made the journey worthwhile

The big news was on the way to the town centre, we were passed by, I am assuming, by the Luxemburg Army.  If they don’t have an army (as I am not so sure) then we were passed by another countries army going through the centre of town, which is a tad more worrying.  I also finally got the bottle to take a picture of them as they passed.  In this modern day I wasn’t sure what the reaction would be but chanced it and pleased to say I got back to the hotel.
So now I just have time to update the blog, do a last check of work things before tomorrow and say
Night All
