Day 93 - Luxembourg to Dunkirk - Time for Reflections.

Thursday and part one of the journey home but before that it was a day at work.  After that we had the small task of taking a second UK colleague back to the hotel in Luxembourg and this was done by late afternoon so on the way back to Luxembourg from Esch Sur Alzette we called in at the big supermarket we went in on Tuesday.  But this time there was no shopping for me.
After we dropped our colleague off we set off to Dunkirk a mileage total just short of 300.  It was a fairly good journey with no real delays.  After the stop we made just after Brussels there was another 100 plus miles.  We arrived in Dunkirk at just after 21:00 at which time it was time to do a little work and then bed.
But before that as this is a short blog then it is time to look back over this week and the first time I had ever driven in my car abroad.  I suppose I expected it to be harder, in the past because the steering wheel was on the correct side of the car it made me realise that it was different.   With me in my own car I expected I would have to concentrate a lot more.  I was surprised this wasn’t the case.  Admittedly most of my journeying has been done on the motorways but even when I was on the smaller roads this did not seem too difficult.  I am hoping that I have not spoken too soon as I have to get from here to Calais in the morning in time for the channel train.  This week’s decision to drive has been justified by the fact that I had to do work in two separate locations but if I had only Luxembourg to go to then would I have still driven.  I honestly don’t think I would have done.  If I have just to go to Dunkirk then I will drive without hesitation but not all the way to Luxembourg.
So with just the final leg to do home tomorrow it is time for bed.
Night All
