Day 115 - Luxembourg to Dunkirk - Oops

It has been another long day but I was not going to complain as it has been to my advantage.
Firstly though I wanted to report that yesterday the milestone of 2,000 reads occurred on the blog, basically that means that the blog has now been read more than 2,000 times since I started some 114 days ago.  It is nice that some people come back and follow what I seem to spend most of my life doing, and that is travelling as much and as far as I can.  I know I have said this, I think, on day one, but I am very lucky to get the chance to do what I like to do and that is travel to different places and work with some really nice people, whether they travel with me, at the sites that I get to visit or that I meet on the way.  As you can tell I am really happy about this news.
And last night is where the I start today’s blog, I managed to bump the car.  I do say bump and not crash as it was just a small bump.  I like to think that I can blame my colleague and have told him that a few times but to be fair it was my fault.  He was giving me directions into a parking space and I wanted to get as close to the wall as possible so that the front end was not sticking out and well I suppose you can guess the rest.  He shouted stop but I wasn’t going to listen to somebody telling me what to do and I carried on.  No one tells me to stop if I don’t want to.  Luckily cars bumpers these days are built quite well and as I bounced off the wall I came to an abrupt halt.  I got out of the car and around to the back in about a tenth of a second and was surveying the damage.  Luckily the bumpers are built very well and there was no damage, not even to the paintwork so I suppose I was lucky.  However my ears were not so lucky as all the way to the hotel I got ribbed about my parking abilities.
So today it was a case of meetings and then to the client site for a two hour meeting before being let out early for good behaviour and my Nottingham, unable to give parking directions, colleague and I had decided that rather than drive all the way back home tomorrow we would spend the evening driving to Dunkirk to stay just this side of the Tunnel so we could get an early train and be back home sometime in the early afternoon.  So that is what we did, without figuring for the fact that there are more cars around Brussels than people and spent a good hour queuing in traffic jams until we could get up to speed again.  But 300+ miles later we were pulling into the exciting town of Dunkirk and the hotel that would be our home for the night.  At least with it being the end of the week with only three meetings and a journey from the Tunnel to home ahead of me I can relax tonight and hopefully have an early one.  Therefore this will be an short blog and one that will be posted early.
So it is an early

Night all
