Day 15 - Hobbs - update 2

Starting by looking back at last night and the storm. It was quite something to see so much lightening. For ten or fifteen minutes it was like looking at a strobe light, the thunder was so constant that you only registered the louder claps.
I didn't sleep more than a couple of hours all night and after updating my blog I rose and started to potter around the room doing odd bits and pieces. I could not even do any work as my English adapter was in my case and did not have any power.
I was surprised as it got fully light, during the early light I could see the flooding was quite extensive and covered the grass expanse outside my window but by full light it was just as it had been the previous night with sparadic patches of flooding.  It seems the water clears very quickly. However on the news the rest of Houston had not been so lucky as there were pictures of floods from large areas of the city.
I caught the earlier shuttle to the airport as I had just run of things to do, but that meant more sitting around at the airport and of course looking in the shops and balking at the prices.  The flight was set for midday and amazingly it was on time at the last time of looking.
Airports can be very lonely places and I got to thinking they should have airport talkers who go around and just talk to people who are on their own.  The reason people do not talk is that people are wary of others who want to talk so if you had people who were known to be safe to talk to then it would pass some miserable lonely hours and giving people to talk to someone may just help them mentally.  I would put that in a suggestion box but I don't know where one is and don't feel like asking anyone in case they think I am mad.  But seriously, looking around right now, a lot of people are using the phone for one going or another but there are at least ten people in my little area sat looking around looking very sad.  I could have put now that I am going over to talk to someone and then do my next blog from the county jail but that would be too easy a gag.  Also because there are fewer people in delays there is less adversity and therefore less reason for people to interact.  We need adversity to cause people to talk.
Nearly time for my flight so time to pack away and get moving.
