Today has been a day of firsts, not the awaking at 4.30 a.m. but the breathalyzer that I had to take as well as the drug test. It wasn't a cop pulling me over but part of the tests that I had to do for work. I suppose there should have been no surprise it registered 0 as I hadn't had a drink in over three weeks. Being out here only makes you want to drink water with the air so dry and the heat.
Although another surprise was the temperature when I left the hotel just after 5.00 a.m. it was really cold, or at least as cold as I have felt it here.
I was driving to the testing centre early and I have started listening to a country and western station and whilst listening an advert came on. We have adverts about not leaving dogs in the car in the heat but this one was saying that last year 44 babies died in cars when parents forgot and left their children in a car during the day. It seemed a very bizarre advert to make people aware not to forget their children.
The other news today was that two UK colleagues were due to arrive on the evening flight from Houston but there plane was delayed until tomorrow which meant I was sat at the local airport waiting for a plane that didn't show up.
So overall today has been one of those days really dedicated to work with not a great deal happening other than that, but I suppose that is what I am here for and the time I get to look around are bonuses and not the norm.
So for now
night all
