Copenhagen Day 14

I got out of bed this morning, as per normal hit the bathroom and then as per normal put the kettle on and as per normal started up the laptop to check my emails that had come through overnight.  Then as per normal checked the BBC website for news.  That is where normality stopped, the news is that tonight a solar storm will hit and there could be a chance to see the northern lights at a lower whatever, but basically further south.  As I am pretty far up north I wonder, just wonder if I can tick off one of my things I really want to do before I expire this drudgery and get my final reward from the maker, what a great big use of words to say dead.  That would be so impressive if I can see the northern lights tonight, so I can say definitely I will be hitting the streets when I get back from work.
Arrived at work and on the way I managed to get the front seat on the metro, I wasn’t driving but it felt like it. As the metro is driverless people can sit looking out of the front window and you get a great view as you go through the tunnels that are lit.  You get to see what it must be like for a rat to move through the sewers.  So I thought great, take a video from my phone, but I could not get the damn video camera to work.  I thought, I am responsible for loads of cutting edge technology but cannot get my phone to video.  I am responsible for guys deploying boxes that have more flashing lights than most people ever see, one even had a red light that went from side to side like the light on the Knightrider car from the television series.  I recommended the customer got a few more of those as they looked great in the racks of other boxes.  Absolutely no idea what they do but they don’t have look good, especially if you turn the lights off in the room, it looks like something from NASA.  Then I thought, is I.T. the only industry where you buy double of what you need as you expect half of them to break down.  You wouldn’t go to a car show room and say, give me two of those as I expect one to break down and I need a back up.  Or if you call the police say please send two of your policemen just in case one breaks down on the way.  Oh hang on, they do send two.
