I didnt do the update last night because I finally did it, I left work at 5.30 p.m. and taking advantage of a lift from the office to the hotel from a colleague who has a car I was back at the hotel by 5.45 p.m. That meant time for a quick change and I set off for a walk. I walked down the street outside the hotel, something begining with V and then accross Hans Christianson Anderson Boulevard and into the pedestrian area. From their I walked for about an hour, completely in a straight line, mainly as I didnt want to get lost and knew that by turning aound and walking back in a straight line I would be back at the hotel, clever eh.
It was a nice, bit cold, but nice evening and plent of shops still open to look through the window at. Didnt venture in as I dont need anything and didnt fancy and sort of shopping. Then as I approached, I can only describe as, a clothes shop there was a large contingent of women, careful not to say a contingent of large women, just a large contingent of women who were milling around the shop entrance. The shop had its lights on but no one was in and at the door two burly minders with clipboards. Sunddenly the women started to enter the shop after being checked off by the minders. Strange I thought but not enough to think about it any more. Then a bit further there was a huge queue and I mean huge, about 30 or 40 yards long and every one a woman, really, not one man in the queue at all and at the head of the queue they were going into a shop. Through the window of the shop I could see women just shopping for clothes. These women were being allowed into the shop as someone left. Not sure what was going on but the shop was just like any normal clothes shop, the closest I could think of that we have is something like Peacocks or Dorethy Perkins. they must really love their shopping here if they queue at 7 at night to buy a frock. I continued to walk until I thought, time to turn around and then did a 180 and walked back. It was fairly busy and that added to the atmosphere and as we passed the ladies still queuing I noticed how no one paid them any notice, so perhaps it is normal. I will have to go out again next week and see if the same thing happens again.
On my way back I did notice a cinama and thought that might be a change for a night, see brad pit or Julia Roberts spouting Danish. That just shows how "up with it" I am when I couldnt think of any up to date film stars. I think I have finally given a sign that I am getting old and the fact I am not bothered is bothering me. So therefore I am bothered. That strange, perhaps I am bothered by proxy, or I am bi bothered. No that is starting to sound wierd so not going there.
Back to my evening and on the way back to the hotel saw that Tivoli theatre was just opening and people were going in, and it had a production of Greece on. This is how desperate I am becoming being here, mainly on my own, I was actually thinking, hmm might be nice to go one night. Then remembering how the only bad show I have seen on at the West End was Greece I tried to get that out of my head.
As I got back to the hotel I called into the Lidle shop that is next door to look for something for tea. There were restaurants and fast food places but I am not going to sit "billy no mates" in a restaurant or even KFC or McDonalds and spend best part of a tenner. So I bobbed into Lidl and got some wraps and some salami and a salad box, still got some cheese slices in the fridge from earlier in the week so got a nice tea making wraps for less than four quid and have enough left over to make some for lunch tomorrow before I go for the plane. I like to think I am Mr Resourceful if not Mr Cheap.
After by tea it was time to listen to a few podcasts and then to bed.
