Day 17 - Busy Day Today

Today has been a really busy day, after the late night last night, I slept well and woke early.  I was met in reception by a colleague who is over here for a few days and he relayed his story of water pouring through his ceiling this morning when he woke up.  I thought I know how that feels and I said, “oh you got room 7 then”.  He said he had and I said that that was the room that has the indoor water fall and he was going to be charged extra for that.  He didn’t take it in the humour I meant it and was not happy when he was speaking to the reception.  When we arrived back after work he was pleased to hear that it was fixed and the problem should not happen again.  I smiled and thought after three days in a row it has happened even a non betting man would put money on that not being fixed.
Other news, I have sold no more books today so my overall total stands at three, I was hoping to have started re reading my Drinking Partners story with a view to carrying it on,  but I have had a fair bit of work to get done ready for tomorrow morning so have not dusted it off yet.  I hope that I will have chance to start on it before the weekend, but I can see this is going to require a concerted effort to keep on track.  I suppose that is the difference between a short story and a full novel.  A short story can be one in just a few days whereas keeping the concentration going is tough when work keeps popping up in the middle.  Never mind, it is a cross I will have to bear (Easter joke their).
Also with my colleague here he wanted to go out and have a look around the town so I thought it would be only fair to go with him and it is good to get a bit of exercise after been sat down all day at work.
On the plus front I managed to get to the supermarket and pick up some milk so I have some for my cornflakes in the morning.  The one thing I am going to have to do is learn the French for milk as at the moment I am going by white liquid that has a picture of a cow on the lablel as apposed to a goat, sheep and roses on the other white liquids.  I must admit to have been confused by the roses one, although I have seen white liquid coming out of the stems of roses, but I am sure even the French in their little idiosyncratic ways have not stated milking rose stems for drinking purposes.
That’s all for now so it wil be bed time soon once I have checked my emails for one last time and maybe responded to a few.
Night all
