Today was one of those days that I hate and I mean I hate. As I have mentioned on here before I am the type of person who likes to be at the airport with plenty of time to get checked in and through security and relax whilst waiting for the plane. The one thing I hate is the opposite and rushing at the last minute, this happened today. I had a meeting that was scheduled to end just two hours before the plane was due to leave so I thought as long as I can get out on time or a bit early I would be OK. Of course that was never going to happen and the meeting seemed to be delayed at every agenda item. Eventually with just over an hour to the plane departing I managed to get out of the room and three seconds later the building. The problem was I had to get to the hotel which was next door, pay for the parking, get to the car and on the way to the airport, refuel it before handing back. With the journey itself being about 20 minutes then I was worried I would not get there in time.
To say the journey was hectic would put it mildly but I got to the check in with a few minutes to spare and then luckily Luxembourg is a small airport and security extremely efficient and I was through to the gate with almost 10 minutes before the plane was due to board. Didnt know what all the rush was about.
Speaking about airports I suppose I have to quickly say that my change airport this week was Zurich and it was the first time I had been to that airport. It was very well organised and although reasonable busy as its the main through way for Swiss Airlines, the airport is quick to negotiate. So it is up there in my top ten of airports. Not the same for next week as I have Schipol to get through and that is definitely not on the list.
After I got back to Birmingham Airport it was pretty much plane sailing home with just a few traffic delays and then got back at 8.30 which will give me just 56 hours at home before the next week will begin.
So from a tired traveler
Night All
