Day 127 - Esch sur Alzette - Happy Birthday

Its been a good day today, its been a nice change.  The day has been a normal work day although for today and will be tomorrow we are working in Esch sur Alzette, which is about 15 miles south of Luxembourg City.  I say we as the team has been together.  Colleagues from Belgium, Spain, Halifax, Nottingham and actually, I'm not sure where David is from but Bristol sticks in my head so I will assume he must have told me Bristol at some point.
Work came and went and the plan was to go bowling tonight.  You see it was our colleague from Belgian's birthday and we thought it would be nice to do something as a team and our Nottingham colleague who took the lead, suggested bowling and he found a place in a town called Foetz about 10 minutes in the car, south of Luxembourg City.  When we got there we were surprised as for a Tuesday night, the place was packed, it seemed some sort of bowling league night was going on, but it added to the atmosphere and we found a lane quite easily. We had two games and I have to admit that five out of the six of us were pretty rubbish.  But I took the biscuit, on the first game I came last with a total score that was not even half as good as the fifth place person but as I haven't been bowling for about 10 years it was not to be surprised.  We decided to have a second game and that was much more competitive with five of us all finishing within ten points of one another, the only outright winner was the Halifax Colleague who does seem to go quite regular playing this game.  But it was more about the fun and the laughs and it was a really good evening.
It was after 10:00 p.m. so we decided to call it a night and not have a third game.  The car journey home was quick but as a nice round off to the evening our Belgian colleague had been sent a cake from her boyfriend to her room at the hotel and she kindly shared a few pieces with us.  So, in return, we embarrassed her by singing happy birthday as she cut it in the hotel restaurant, where we had found a suitable spot for the cake cutting.
Happy with the night's events we all retired for the evening and it seemed we all headed back to our rooms to do some work.  Deep down it seems we are all the same.  I have finished what I needed to do and as it is just past midnight and I need to be up at 05:30 to be off for an early start tomorrow I am going to cut the blog short and head for the bed.

So, night all
