Day 137 - Palma - The journey home

I suppose the final day had to come and came it did with a vengeance.  No sooner did we seem to be landing and getting to the hotel then we were boarding the bus and making our way back to Palma airport.  Before that we had the small matter of getting up at 6.30, a quick get ready and then partake in some breakfast.  We arose on time to the sound of two alarms and was ready for breakfast for just after 7.00 a.m., as breakfast didnt officially start until 7.30 a.m. I went down to the breakfast room and checked if we could start early, as with everything we found at the TRYP Bosque hotel, the staff were accommodating and helped in every way they could.  Needless to say breakfast taken early was no problem and the lady who was working did everything she could to help us on our way.  They were either very helpful or they wanted rid of us.  After breakfast we collected our suitcase and checked out and awaited for 7.55 a.m. and the time the shuttle bus was due to arrive.
Seven fifty five on the dot and the bus arrived at the entrance to the hotel, it could not have been timed any better.  Our problem started at the airport checkin, going out our suitcase weighed 1 kilogram under the limit and going back it was 1 kilogram over.  The price was going to be sixty euros and therefore I opened the case took out my dirty laundry bag and put it in my hand luggage.  The weight of the case was now within the allowable limit and I had to lug around 1 kilogram of dirty  washing.  I know there are rules and know why but it does seem funny that the weight will still be going on the plane just in a different area, in fact the plane could still have had the weight in the hold if I had paid the excess money.
The security was quick and we were soon relaxing on some of the best lounge chairs I have experineced in an airport.  The flight seemed really long even though it was only two and a half hours, but I put that down to the fact I am normally asleep during my flights and for this one I wasnt.
The final alarm was trying to get home when I managed to get lost around Leeds and spent almost an hour just trying to get to the motorway, but after a great few days then I was still relaxed enough to not care.
Looking back over the few days we spent in Majorca and Palma, it was a marvellous Island and  had loads more to see and explore than we had time to do.  The hotel was friendly, but above that every person we met and spoke to seemed friendly, the bus drivers were only to happy to help, the cafes welcomed you genuiningly and not seemingly just for your euros.  The place wasnt just full of Brits, there were Germans, French and Spanish travellors there, probably others but I couldnt tell the language.  But overall a fantastic holiday in a lovely place.
An update to the holiday is that we have now booked another holiday for March next year already.  It will only be a four day trip as our responsibilities at home dectate we cannot travel for much longer, but this time we are going to the north of the Island and looking forward already to see what this will have to offer.
As I come to a close of our holiday, travel starts again on Monday when it is back to Luxembourg and another week at work.
