The final full day of our mini break and we had already made plans to catch the bus to Palmanova but as the morning greater us we decided we would try to fit a bit more into the day.
The day had started when we pulled back the drapes to be greeted by an almost dark sky at not much before 8.00 a.m. As the light started to make an entrance we could see that it was a heavily overcast morning and as we opened the door to the balcony the heat hit us and it was that muggy heat so we were in for a warm day.
After breakfast we set off as quickly as we could just after 9.00 a.m. and instead of getting the bus we started to walk toward Palma centre via the marina. The day was brightening up and as we walked along we could see well into the water of the harbour and the number of fish we could see was amazing, from about 5 or 6 centremeters in size right up to about 30 centremeters or in my money from two inches to about a foot in length. The sheer number of fish we could see made the walk along the front really interesting. As we neared the cathedral we crossed to the town side and walked through some of the small streets that make up the town. We didn't have any plan just turned left and right where we took the fancy and some of the things we saw were a treat. The highlights were a garden at the back of the cathedral which had various fruit trees as well as a nice array of plants, we took the chance to sit and enjoy the calm for a short while. Also we found a largest Parish church in either Spain or the Balearic Islands, I am not sure which, but again it was a real treat to go inside and enjoy the serenity it offered. We continued to walk around and then just before 1.00 p.m. we found the bus stop for the 104 and 106 route and boarded a bus for Palmanova.
We alighted the bus at the first if the stops for the town and immediately headed for a small local cafe for a couple of cappacinos, which were well received. We then walked along the first bay and around the Saint Lucia Hotel to the second bay and carried on walking as far as we could before the path ran out. We headed inland to the main road to d
Find we were now actually back in Magaluf, we must be getting drawn to the place. We headed slowly back to the centre of Plamanova and another branch off to the beach to walk along the front but this time in the opposite direction and paddling in the water as we walked. After getting back to the far North of the resort we found the bus stop and caught the bus back to Palma. We arrived at the supermarket near the hotel just after 6.00 p.m. To pick up some food for our tea.
With our transfer set for before 8.00 a.m. we decided to start some packing and in between chats and sits on the balcony we were as ready as we can be for the night before. We are taking in the hotel aura for the last night before we head off home tomorrow.
