Today really has been a better day. I woke up at 8.30 a.m. after finally getting to bed at 1:00 a.m. I took the chance to get a little breakfast before returning to my room to pack, and get some work done before leaving. After a call and at 11:00 a.m. I left the hotel and proceeded to the tunnel. This is where I had my first problem, the hotel I was staying at was actually with sight of the tunnel, the problem was there didnt seem to be a local road leading to it. The only thing I could do was to join the motorway and travel two junctions toward Dunkirk and then switch sides and travel back toward the tunnel and Calais. I arrived almost 15 minutes later and when parked up at the terminal building I could see the hotel across the other side of the security fencing.
The next problem I almost had was the train itself. I arrived to book in and looked to get an earlier train, I was given the option of the earliest train at 12:20 and as my car clock said 10:30 I thought it was a while before boarding so was having a walk around the terminal when it dawned on me that my car clock was an hour behind as it was still on UK time. I raced out of the shop realising I may miss the train. I think the security guard probably thought I had nicked something, but there was no time to waste. The display boards were showing the boarding would close in a few minutes and I managed to get on at the last minute.
The journey home was really good for a Friday and by just after 5.00 p.m. I was home and ready for the weekend, which is a bonus as I need to be away early Monday morning
On that note it is time for bed tonight
Night All.
