Day 144 - Dunkirk - I saved £14.20

Looking back at last night I was surprised that when I did finally get to bed, I thought I would have been "out like a light" as the saying goes, but I laid there for some time before getting back up again.  I made sure I didn't make the mistake of going back to the laptop to take a look at a bit of work and after a drink of water went back to bed.  It really did seem that I was too tired to sleep and took some time to relax.  I suffered in the morning as I knew I would be tired so worked out the least amount of time I would need to get up and get ready and calculated that at an hour, but when the alarm when off at 6.30 a.m. I was in the perfect place to go straight back to bed.  But my motivation got me to the shower and dressed with enough time to meet my Nottingham colleague in the breakfast area.  It seemed like a good idea when I was walking downstairs but when I got there I managed about a quarter of a cup of orange and struggled to get a choc au pan down my throat.  At that point I found a little more motivation and set out for the car to drive to the office, it was a miserable day, which was apt as I was expecting a miserable day.
The one thing about France is that the people who are from the local area seem suggest a lunch hour and a half, so my Nottingham colleague and I get the chance to leave the office and go to the complex nearby to have a look around.  But no matter how much time you have it still goes and we were soon back in the office and enjoying a miserable afternoon.
When we finished at sometime after 6.00 p.m. it was time to evacuate and as a treat I drove to the petrol station and filled my car up with cheap fuel, it is quite amazing that we are all in Europe and whilst I have been paying up to £1.40 a litre, over here I paid only 1 euro 22 cents which is about £1.05 or so.  When you consider 35p times by nearly 40 litres I put in then I saved £14.20 which is quite considerable for what I assume is the same stuff and probably the same oil well.
Enough of that before I start moaning too much.  After my petrol excursion it was time to get back to the hotel and as my colleague has deserted me for another hotel closer to Brussels, I thought it would be a time to have an early night but even though I have done little work this evening I have found other things I wanted to do.  One of those was taking a look at the small dashboard camera I bought recently.  The plan being to have it recording as I drive along and capture anything interesting.  I have had the thing over a week and not wanting to tempt fate but nothing seems to have happened.  But it did give me a good view of the bad road conditions this morning.  I will attempt to put some of it on the blog, but be warned, nothing of interest happens.
Well I say plan to and the result was I couldnt, well not until I have got some form of video editor to trim it down to less than 300 mb.  But you didnt miss much.
That has to be all for tonight as I am going to try and get to bed and some sleep before the journey home.
Night All
