It has been a busy weekend on the writing front, first of all I have finished my short story The Will and now I am just going back through to do some editing, that will most likely take a couple of weeks as I like to go over it a few times to make sure it just like I want it to be.
Also my proof reader (or my daughter however people would like to refer to her) has given me feedback. I would like to point out at this stage that getting true feedback is very difficult as people are very kind and cannot be totally critical. I have a number of friends who read my stuff and give me the "Oh that's very good" but that is not what I or any other person writing wants, they want to hear "you can improve here or improve there".
Well my children server that purpose as they seem to have no problem giving any sort of criticism in any part of my life. My daughter reads through and literally pulls stuff apart which is good. Well her feedback from my story Stag Party was, something missing and certainly not good enough to be a story in its own right but sorting out the first bit then it would be good for a short story so I think that is the way it will go, I will add it to the list to go in my next release of short stories.
So this week I am hoping to go back to Stag Party and look at the red markings on my draft copy I printed out and look through the changes she suggests, that will take some time and then if I can I will get back to The Will to continue editing.
One thing that will halt my work this week is that I have made arrangements to go to London for a few days on Thursday with my son and as I used to do some of my stories on the train I will use it as research. It may lose me some time on the writing front but a few days with my son on our own is worth it as we always have some great times if you get chance to get Hong Kong travel diaries when next it is on offer for free you will see, as we had a great time over their.
