Day 17 - Plains, Texas - An evening trip

It is now after 10:00 p,m, and I have just returned from a nice evening run in the car.
Before all that a look back at the day, I awoke after a good night sleep at 7.00 a.m. and with my first meeting of the day at 7.30 it gave me time to get ready for work before a couple of calls.  Once those were done I traveled to work and cutting out the boring bits we get to the point where I leave work.
I got back to the hotel and after a little bite to eat I got into the car and decided to head north toward Lovington as there was a road through the town that I had not been through as yet.  So it was like a red rag to a bull and I went up there and took it.  The road led to Highway 82 and through the usual scrub.  The difference tonight was that there was rain in the air, for the first time in the distance I could see rain and an electrical storm.  I didn't actually see the rain on the car but it was there in the distance.
Highway 82 led after quite a while to a small town called Plains, similar to Lovington and Denver City it was a small single high street town with various shops, restaurants and fast food places.  As time was moving on I didn't stop so it was then down Highway 214 to Denver City.  As I headed south the rain was behind me in the distance and in the rear view mirror I could see lightening lighting up the sky.
Following Denver City it was back down to Hobbs and two hours and thirty minutes after setting off I was arriving back at the hotel.  It wasn't the most memorable of journeys but gave me a trip out and a nice way to pass the evening.
Also today I did a video review of my room here in Hobbs which I have put the link below.  I thought it may be interesting to compare each of the rooms.  Here is the link to the look around the room
