Day 27 - Rotterdam to Almelo - A walk in the park

Today I woke up just off the Dutch coast and enjoyed a relaxing hour or so until I could disembark with my car.  Just enough time to get a coffee and enjoy it.
I was out of the ship by 9.00 a.m. and on my way to Almelo.  A good run with only a couple of queues meant that I was rolling into the Eastern Dutch town by 11:15 a.m. and got the pleasure of going to work.
Where it gets better is that work finished by 6.00 p.m. and I checked into the hotel and across from the hotel is a park which I took the chance to have a walk.
The park also incorporates a private house which is surrounded by a moat, but outside of that there was a very nice park that featured a water fountain.  With the sun shining it made it very pleasant, eventually the path around the park led to the centre of town and the next forty five minutes were spent walking through the streets with closed shops all around.  The highlight was that I found two churches, very strange architecture, made from predominantly of brick but very old brick.  The closest building I have seen to it is St Pancras Station, obviously the old bit but with different coloured brick.
I returned to the hotel after a couple of hours but at least felt better for a chance to get out into the fresh air.  As i walked around the park there was another path which led in a different direction which hopefully I shall try tomorrow.  So for tonight it is time to relax in my room and sleep for my last full day on site.
