Today was one of those few days when work takes over, it can’t
be helped as that is my main purpose for being here so those days when work
completely takes over I can hardly complain.
I like to take every chance I can to look around and visit
whatever I can see and learn about the places I am sent to and so I feel a
little sad when a full day of work is then followed by more meetings after I’ve
got back.
Today was one of those days so looking back at the day the
best thing to talk about tonight is the room.
I seem to have spent a lot of time in that room today so looking around
my overall impression is that it is a good hotel and a nice room, good size
with two single beds (pushed together), sofa and a couple of chairs before you
can walk out of the patio door and onto the balcony and in the evening the sun
shone creating a real sun trap.
The bathroom is one of the good ones with a nice deep bath
and a shower cubicle with a good power shower.
The downsides now though, the TV, it was probably around 24”
and in that room looked very small. But
by far the worst part of the room was the bed, it was like a reverse
hammock. If you laid in the middle of
the mattress then it was fine and very comfortable but slip slightly to one of
the sides and you are in trouble. The
mattress sort of collapses at the side and you are in danger of rolling
out. The floor side was bad enough but
it also happened and at one point almost deposited me onto the floor between
the two beds. I had worries that I may
do that and not be found until the maid comes in finds me suffocated to
death. That may be a bit of an over exaggeration
but was a problem as during the night you feel your body rolling toward the
edge of oblivion.
But I would happily stay in the hotel again and in fact have
booked for next week already so my moaning is only superficial.
Enough for tonight as I have to be off early in the morning
as I have a meeting in Utrecht and with the early morning traffic it could take
some hours to get there.
So for now
Night All.
