Day 8 - Missed Thai but caught an Indian

This morning was a day I released something.  As most mornings do, apart from feeling bad like last week, I start by going down for breakfast.  As I walked in I was asked, “have you had breakfast with us before?”
“No” I replied.
At which point she led me to the dining room and stood with me in the middle pointed at the coffee machine and said, “coffee”.  Pointed at the cereal and said “cereal” and then amazingly pointed at the bacon and eggs and said, “hot items”.  I wondered if she thought I was some kind of “special” person as I am pretty sure I could have worked that lot out for myself.
As you have probably guessed I write my blog throughout the day in bits and pieces so before the evening time I had written the bits above.  The evening came and the plan had been formulated for our team which in this case meant my boss and a Liverpool colleague to go out and have a bite to eat together.  We were due to meet at 6.00 p.m. and the restaurant (a Thai) booked for 6.30 p.m.  Needless to say trying to leave work for a 6.00 meet up was ambitious and infact we ended up meeting just a bit before 7.00 p.m.  It was then decided by people other than myself, to meet in the bar of my boss’ hotel as it was two for one time and when I arrived I have been purchased two pints of Lager.  Now for those who don’t really know me, I am not a drinker and can go several months between alcoholic drinks and the two pints drunk by 7.30 p.m. was too much and I had to admit to feeling very light headed, but not admitted to my colleagues.
We left and went in search of another restaurant as the booking at the Thai had been lost and we ended up in an Indian place on Tottenham Court Road.  I had a tikka misala (no idea how to spell it) which was very nice but of course another beer was ordered however when a second one was purchased by my colleagues I did say no.
Now feeling very tired we left the restaurant and I hoped we would be going back to our respective hotels but not to be, my boss decided we would go into a pub and watch the last 10 minutes of the Man City match.  He rushed in and purchased his two following employees a proper beer.  God knows what it was but it wasn’t lager.  The match was coming to a close but not fast enough for me or the Barcelona fans and as the final whistle blew I thought, great we can go back to the hotel but no my boss wanted another and this time again I refused and sat harbouring two inches of beer in the bottom of my glass whilst the other two refilled theirs.
In my last night’s blog I said how nice it was that we talked about football and not work but tonight it was all about work which after 10 hours in the office it does get tiring.
Finally they finished their pints and we hit the road and I was so glad to eventually get to my hotel and when I got through the door, removed my coat, my jeans and laid on the bed absolutely shattered.  About an hour later and just after midnight I woke up and decided to get the rest of myself ready for bed and tucked up for another 5 and a bit hours of lovely sleep.

When my alarm went off at 6.00 a.m. I thought, Oh good the lord God in his wisdom has given me another day of fun and excitement at work, or something like that.
