Day 5 - London - Double Scarf trouble

Day 5 of my travels this time around and it is back to London and for the first time noticed how cold it was.  If you are following my blog from last week you will have noticed that my plan for this week was to go out and get a black scarf as I had lost my other one.  However over the weekend I was shopping in Goole and low and behold found a nice scarf on sale in Store 21 in the town, and on sale for three pound.  Therefore I snapped it up.
I returned home after buying the scarf only to hang my coat up and find my black scarf.  I had looked all over for it and once I had bought another it was there.  Well now I have a scarf and a backup scarf.
So this morning when I set off I was nicely wrapped against the cold.  Ten minutes into my walk to the station and I was mafted, so warm but I persevered thinking it was better to be too warm than cold.  The journey was uneventful for me as the train was very empty, with only a few other people in the carriage and I spread out and fell asleep.  I slept for over an hour when I was awoke by my phone ringing and trying to answer it quickly so not to disturb other people and still being half a sleep I must have sounded a right numpty to the person on the other end.  I started to nod off again just as we arrived at Kings Cross, so it was time to wrap up again for the 30 second walk to the office.
I did detour as I walked through Kings Cross as I wanted to see the memorial to Alan Rickman that fans have put in the station next to the Harry Potter platform 9 and three quarters.  There are quite a few flowers and a few words put down by fans which is quite touching as you read them.  Very sad.
None of my colleagues are around today so I decided to have a night in the hotel to catch up on some work and also start looking a little harder for a new job.  As I have said before, it is time to move on and I think a new challenge is what I need to re invigorate me.  So it is time to start trawling the job sites.  If anyone has any jobs going for an Infrastructure Project Manager, let me know.
After a brief walk to the supermarket to get myself some warm half chicken and some salad bits and pieces, I retired to my room and took the chance to do a bit of extra work and spend some time on the job front.  When it comes to job hunting I start with all the enthusiasm of a young man looking for employment and finish with the enthusiasm of 16 year old that cannot see the point in working.
So I decided to retire to the bath room and treat myself to a lovely hot bath whilst listening to the football on the radio.  Once the football had finished I decided to treat myself further so I laid in bed and did as much of the crossword as I could before turning out the light and getting some much wanted sleep.

Goodnight All
