Day 4 - London - Late and lost lights

Another morning and I awoke in my exec bed and after five minutes I realised I still had my exec cold (not sure I have mentioned that) so I laid back down and wished I could go back to sleep, but that was not an option as today is pack day and go home day.
Breakfast gave me the chance to restock the fruit department and after attempting to pack my things, why do my clothes seem to expand for the journey home, perhaps when they are dirty they are bigger.
My journey to work was a lucky one, lucky as it was done in the dry but just after arriving at work it started to rain.  Earlier in the week I stated that 90% of London worked in the opposite direction to me, well today I think that moved to 100%.  It was almost impossible and to boot managed to almost walk into a poor blind guy with a stick, who rather confusingly saw me first and move around me.
Since the Olympics London have had these guys who are employed to wear florescent jackets and bibs saying they are there to help, what I love about them is that if you give eye contact to any of them they respond by saying good morning.  I do that regularly as it makes me feel like I have friends.  I have to admit to getting so desperate for friends I am sure one day I will end of stopping and chatting just for social practice.
One disappointment tonight is that an event is happening around Kings Cross called Luminia or something like that where there is due to be a pretty impressive light show (if you believe the literature).  It starts at 6.00 p.m. tonight, jus the time I am going for my train and finishes 22:00 on Sunday night, which is about 10 hours before I get back.  There is a hell of a lot of effort going into this event when it is for such a short time.
I got one walk around my lap of St Pancras and Kings Cross which wasn’t good but it has been a very  busy day.
By the time I left at just after 6.00 p.m. I was hoping to see some of the lights but no, not really, there was a little display which seemed to have drawn a bit of a crowd but the main lights were the wrong way for me as I was heading toward the station.
I would like to say it was an unusual journey home with a delay on the train to such an extent that as we pulled into Doncaster it was within two minutes to my train departing.  I did catch it  as mine was held up a little while also.  I would like to say it was unusual but in reality it is very rare the train makes it on time.  It often leaves on time but, to be fair to Hull Trains, it isn’t their fault as this time it was defective track between London and Peterborough that meant we had to go slow for about the first half of the journey which put us into Doncaster some 25 minutes late.  But I caught my train home and no damage done, in fact it was better for me as I got to stay in a warm train rather than sit on a cold platform for those 25 minutes.
Anyway I was finally home and just one more workday until the weekend and then I can relax and get ready for Monday when I can do it all over again.
Reminders for next week.
Needs to get a black scarf, particularly as it is going to be very cold
Try and visit the exhibition at the National History Museum which is about beautiful photography of the universe, so would like to see that.

But that is all for now and it is a good night from me
