Day 8 - London - Asian Games

It is home day and that means packing day, it does amaze me how I manage to spread my things about the room in only three nights and also how they struggle to go back into a case that was only half full when I arrived.  Still I packed and checked out after paying the hotel £587 for the pleasure of three night bed and breakfast.  And yes it seems blooming expensive to me too.
It wasn’t so much a walk to work but a drag of the suitcase to work through the ever increasingly busy streets.  Saw the same blind man today, not sure if he saw me ( and before you think I am being funny you have to read the previous blogs about him).
Work was compounded by today being the day we moved our mail program from Lotus Notes to MS Outlook, I think it has contributed that bit more to a stress related heart attack I am due to have at some point.  It will just need to be got used to.
Work was over and I suppose the highlight of the day began, not so much the journey home but the fact that when I got on the train I was sat next to a man and his wife and two children were on the seat behind, it turned out he was from Qatar and was in the UK for a few days to see London but also to attend the graduation of their daughter at Hull University.  What was interesting about the guy was that he had performed a pretty unique role in his time.  He had been the director for resourcing for the Asian Games which is similar to the Olympics but over in Asia.  This had involved building of the stadiums right through to the staff needed for when the games were being performed.  Three years of work he had done on this and he spent quite some time telling me about it and it was very interesting.  This made my trip from London to Doncaster go very quickly and it is nice when you meet someone you can talk to that has such a story to tell.  He also told me about schooling in the US even though he was born and bred in Qatar.  We were soon at Doncaster and I wished him a safe journey to Hull and back to London a couple of days later and then he was going home back to the middle east.
After that it was back on auto pilot as I got the Goole train and finally by 10:15 I was back at home.
So as another week ends and the weekend approaches it is two days rest before it all starts again on Monday on the 8:18 from Goole to Doncaster.

Night All
