Day 25 - Blooming awful day

I woke this morning after having a great sleep, not sure if it was the walking or the two beers I had in the pubs last night but when the alarm went off I was ready for the day.  So I calmed myself down and got a shower and settled down to a nice cup of tea.  I don’t have breakfast when I am here at the moment as the rate for my hotel does not include it but I am not bothered as it seemed to be a hassle to get ready go for breakfast when normally it was busy in the dining room so happy that I can take my time.
The rest of the blog has been written as a memory of Day 25 as things took a definite down turn in the afternoon and by the time I hit bed I didn’t have the inclination to write, walk or anything to be quite honest.
To say yesterday was a bad day was an under estimation.  Most of it was work related so obviously cant talk about it however I will say one thing that strikes me as funny.  Every year we have to perform some ethics training and confirm we will work ethically which when you do the training is quite patronising but you accept why companies have to do it or in truth be seen doing it.  However when you see people who tell me to do the ethics training behave so immorally that it borders on illegal it does take the biscuit. I have to admit to being really really angry and please note the two really’s
However enough about that and on to the evening where I am afraid things feared nearly as bad.  I, along with some other colleagues were asked to go out with the client to a swanky bar in central London where they would buy us a few beers and some food as a thank you for delivering part of the project which was very complex, on time.  So I arrived at this very posh pub where they don’t give you glasses unless it is for wine, so you have to drink bottles from the bottle and risk rodent poisoning.  About 20 people were there, 10 from the company I work for and 10 from the client only for both parties to remain totally separate for the time I was there.  In addition the food turned out to be 6 posh little burgers, about 10 onion rings and two cups of chips for the 20 of us, needless to say I didn’t bother eating or mingling as by the time I was there I felt thoroughly miserable and managed to last 30 minutes before I used the excuse I had to make an urgent phone call and that was the last anyone saw of me.

I escaped back to my hotel and consoled myself with a hot bath whilst catching up with the Archers and then listening to some radio dramas, before moving on to doing the crosswords in the paper whilst enjoying a cup of tea before trying to sleep.  But I have to admit by the time I was trying to lay down my head was buzzing with the events of the day and didn’t sleep at all and I mean at all.  At 3.00 a.m. I went down to reception, I did get dressed and not in my PJs, to pick up a different paper and then started doing that crossword and suduko.  Then when 6.00 a.m. arrived I put the telly on and got another cup of tea and by that time just felt ready for a sleep.  If I hadn’t been checking out today I would have gone back to bed but no, I needed to pack and start getting ready for work.
