Day 26 - People watching

When the telly came on I saw that the Flying scotsman was on the news and saying it was to be leaving Kings Cross by 0730 ish.  Typical as I will be 50 yards from there later and would not get a chance to see it as it has already gone.
The walk to work was standard with very little happening and so much so that writing about it afterwards I can hardly remember any of it.
I think I spent most of my time yawning was during my meetings I felt so tired and struggled to concentrate on what people were saying, a true experiment how lack of sleep does affect your performance.  Luckily I have a great set of guys who actually do the work and they just keep going as if I wasn’t here, which gives me a plan that if I went missing, I wonder how many days or weeks before they would notice.
One trip around the stations today with my Selby colleague and as a treat we decided to hit a coffee shop and did a bit of people watching through the window.  Here is a photo I took to remind me of the people watching time.
A view out of the window of the coffee shop

A second walk around the stations was done alone as my Selby colleague had already headed off, both stations were as full as always and it seems a never ending stream of people trying to get somewhere else.
As 6.00 p.m. came and went it was time to go down to the station and start the weekly queue for my train.
I have probably said this so many times but it does amaze me every week and that is seeing people rushing for the Peterborough train which is always in front of the Hull train.  They literally are running down the platform even after the sign has gone up to notify passengers that the doors have closed.  I am sure these people cannot do that every day or else they will be stressed to hell.
As for me I wait patiently for the doors to open and then choose my seat.  As for the journey home all was straight forward with nothing to report.  One difference was when I got onto the Goole train and I was sat very close to a guy who was one of the talkative type and meant that the 30 minute journey went by very quickly as we chatted about random generic stuff.  It made a nice change and as I said it passed the time.

So as I got home there was on more working day before another weekend.  They do seem to keep coming around
