Day 57 - Vote Leave - Leave the planet not the EU

A week or so ago I read on the BBC news site (other news sites are available) that more than half the misogynist comments are made by women.  Firstly I needed to look up what misogynist meant and then let spell checker confirm how to spell it.  But on a serious note I was on the train into London and was shocked when I overheard a table of women discussing a news story that I had read a few days ago, it was one about a Dutch woman who had been raped in the middle east and when reporting it to the police was arrested and charged with having sex out of marriage.  The man also got charged with the same offence but not rape.  The bit that shocked me was that I naturally imagined a hell of a lot of sympathy for the woman but they stated that she had worn inappropriate clothing and being alone at the time was also wrong.  I could have expected to hear that from the usual Neanderthal men that we still have walking the earth but to hear that from women shocked me.  I know that is not normally the style of my blog but I wanted to get that off my chest.  That done it was an interesting day.
I arrived in London with the capital bathed in sunshine and my brief walk to the office made me wish I could be taking a walk around the town rather than sat in an office.
Lunchtime gave me a chance for a walk and I met my Selby colleague and we walked down to the Regents Canal and a short walk along the towpath before then doing a quick lap around the stations. Unfortunately there was not much to report on the walk.
The evening came and this week I am staying at the Holiday Inn in Camden and as the distance from the office to hotel is about 1.5 miles I decided to walk it rather than get on the tube, apart from the exercise benefit you also get to see more.  The one thing I love about Camden is that it is always busy and looks alive and buzzing.  I had arranged to meet my Nottingham colleague and he decided to make his way to Camden so we could take a look around the place and what a lovely surprise.
Firstly we walked along the high street and I saw one strange site on the side of a shop

Not sure who would sit up there.
As we continued we walked into Camden market and an amazing place with bars and eateries and this statue of Ami Winehouse who, of course, lived around this area.

Finally around the market was  these statues which were only for advertising the place they were stood outside of but looked very impressive in their surroundings.
The place was quiet in the main and I guess that was due to it being a Tuesday night but in some small pockets the place was buzzing, a 70's disco was going on with plenty of fancy dress and then as we made it back to Camden Lock there were plenty of people having a picnic on the canal side, it all made for a lovely scene.
We walked back toward the centre and made or way to the Dublin Castle pub which is famous as a place that Amy Winehouse and Madness played gigs at the pub in the music venue at the rear of the pub.  On the walls were signed photographs of both artists and nice to see some local history.  However time was moving on and we needed food so we partook in a little bit of local fare at another pub just opposite.
We said good night before 11:00 p.m. and I made my way back to my hotel after having a really pleasant night and by the time I got back to the room there was just time to check some emails before hitting the bed for a good night sleep
