I woke up this morning to the sound of running water and thought, Oh it must be raining, no change then as it has been raining for two days pretty much. Then I laid there a bit and thought, that sounds inside and when I got up, I saw water running through the ceiling. I got dressed and went to reception to see this French bloke who responded to my news with a shrug, I then said do you want to take a look and persuaded him to visit my room. Even I thought it sounded a bit strange. Anyway he looked at the dripping water and said, I will get the man to look at it later (try reading it with a Inspector Clusso accent). He promptly left but came back two minutes later with a bucket and I left the room with a bucket collecting water running through my ceiling. I have attached a photo of the water coming through the ceiling.
Work was as riveting as normal with an endless string of meetings today. But on the way home I tried a different route to see if it was better, managed to get lost but whilst lost found a building described as parc zoolalogique, which I guess was suppose to be a Zoo. It seemed a small building but a check on google showed that the reviews are pretty good so I may try and find the opening times and if they are open after work I may go and have a look, probably the week after next as some colleagues are coming out here and we will be car sharing.
I arrived back at the hotel and was surprised to find that not only had the water stopped but someone had been in and plastered the ceiling. That was quick DIY, I bet that guy is popular at his home if he does jobs that quick. So all well back in the room for my last night before heading back to the airport tomorrow lunchtime.
On the finger front, it is still hurting whenever I knock it and is definitely at a different angle, albeit only slightly, than the rest of my fingers.
Finally as I have figured out how to get photo’s from my phone onto the blog to I have uploaded a photo from last week when the snow was around, it shows the hotel in the background and the cars trying to move in a particularly busy moment as I was walking back from a walk around the harbour.
So I thought I had finished my blog for the night and was tucked up snug watching a film, for the record it was The Producers, the musical and then shock, horror, water started coming through the ceiling again and a lot of it, all over the place. This time I got the guy on reception ( a different one) and asked him to come to my room, I am sure I am going to get a reputation, and he came in and it was brilliant, he was stood there going sacre blue over and over again. I didn’t know French people actually said that.
So here I am in another room and just seen that the room I was in was much better than this one, this one is tiny. But as it is my last night the one plus is that this one is dry.
