Day 53 - Home to Dunkirk - My own George Michael incident

Back on the road today and I was heading to Birmingham as I decided to take a flight from Birmingham to Brussels for a couple of reasons, the flight was slightly cheaper and because the return flight on Friday leaves almost two hours earlier so I hopefully can be home by around 6.00 p.m. on Friday for the bank holiday weekend and if I can get the weekend it will be the first Bank Holiday for me this year.
So as I was heading to Birmingham and because the M1 on a Monday is always busy I left myself plenty of time and because of that, there wasn’t a delay in sight.  My parking was booked from 9.00 a.m. so at 7.30 and with around thirty minutes of travel left I decided to pull into the McDonalds on the M42/A42 junction and have a coffee.  As normal when I go into the McDougals I go to the loo first and this was no exception, on this occasion the loo was very small and there was a guy already in there and another one following me in.  As the guy who was leaving made room for us the one who had followed me in said, these are small toilets and I said something I thought I would never say to a man in a toilet, yeh its really tight isn’t it.  On reflection I wonder if George Michael’s incident was as innocent as that.
After an hour spent looking at a few emails (thank goodness for free wifi at the Scottish chain) I was on my way to the airport.
A safe journey deposited me into a very wet Brussels and even wetter Dunkirk when I arrived.  Not a lot to do today so it is taking the chance to do some work before work tomorrow whilst looking out into the streets and the pouring rain seeming to never cease.
The journey was made in my car for the week that is a new, or so the guy at the Avis desk told me, Peugot 208, however when I arrived at the car it had more bumps and bruises than a boxer how has done ten rounds with LeonaLewis or is it Lenox, one of them anyway.  the car has little stickers all over saying, damage, scratch, dent.  It is nice of them to point that out although I can see what each one is for myself.  Maybe later I will give a little review as it is the first peugot 208 I have had.
On the plus side today I have published my second piece of work on Amazon, this time it’s a travel diary for the time Jonathan, David (my brother) and I spent a few days in Hong Kong and the things that happened to us as we looked around.  The plan is for the book to be free but the rules of Amazon are that it must be a paid for book but you do have the chance to put it on promotion so from 22nd May until the 25th it will be free so if anyone wants the chance to read our escapades in Hong Kong in 2008 then grab a copy for your Kindle or ereader.
But that is all from a rainy Dunkirk so it’s
Goodnight All.
