Today has been a very productive day, work wise that is. Normally when I am on site with the customers it is a case of meeting after meeting and no chance to get on, well today it has been different. I have been in meetings and three particularly long ones but on this occasion I was invited to three meetings but for a change all three were conducted totally in French and therefore got loads of work done throughout the meetings. Then for a treat I was taken along with my French colleague for a tour of the factory, which was quite interesting apart from the fact that all of the explanation and information was given in French. I felt like a child in a grown up world whereby everyone was talking around me and I had no idea what anyone was saying, maybe just understanding the odd word but no idea of what was really going on.
But the plus of the day today has been the production of my second book, as you know if you read yesterday’s blog, my plan has been to put my travel diaries onto Amazon and make it free for anyone to read who wanted to, but unfortunately Kindle does not seem to allow you to put the book up for free and the lowest price is 69p but there is an option and that is up to five promotion periods that you can do and reduce the price to anything you want so I have used the first promotion for the maximum of 5 days and reduced the price to nothing in a hope that people will read what I have written. So far so good as the stats at the end of tonight are 34 downloads and what is more good is the locations of the downloads, 17 from US and India (don’t ask me why they lump those two together), 10 from UK, 2 from Germany, 1 from France, 1 from Spain, 2 from Japan and finally 1 from Canada. If only a fraction of the people who download read then I will be a happy man.
So, on that high I am going to call it a night and get some sleep before tomorrow.
