I suppose the highlight of today was the fire alarm.
Another different type of day today. I had a meeting with the client in Luxembourg but wasn’t needed until 4.00 p.m. so it was a case of work in the hotel all day until about a quarter to four and then into a meeting for three hours.
So I was in the hotel working when at about 11:45 or so the fire alarm went off. I walked to the door and opened it and there were a couple of hotel staff, so I said I suppose I have to go out and they said, no its ok stay in your room. I didn’t retreat to the room too quick and saw a couple of other people come out and they were told the same. The workers seemed a bit confused as to what the alarm was or what they had to do. I looked at the other guests and they looked at me, I shrugged my shoulders and they went back inside, so I did. About two minutes later the alarm was still ringing when I thought, I wonder if anyone is outside or have we all been told to stay in and burn to death.
I looked through the window and couldn’t see anyone so assumed it was ok. About a minute later it stopped and the staff went back to work and stopped walking up and down the corridor in a dazed state.
I think this little story goes to show sometimes that if you don’t go out and about you have stuff all else to talk about. As you can see I didn’t go out tonight as I had a fair bit of work to do and I have an early start tomorrow (06:30) as my Belgian colleague and I have to travel from Luxembourg to Genk for yet another client presentation. I am not sure there is anyone in Belgium, Luxembourg or France that as not seen me talk about this project. Still it keeps the wolves from the door.
So at 22:58 it is time for an early night, so night all and hopefully more to say tomorrow.
Night All
