Day 76 - Genk - More Brass Bands

Another long day today, firstly it was up at 05:30 to get ready to depart to Genk for a customer meeting.
The journey was around two hours and fifteen minutes but I had a relax as it was my Belgium colleague who provided the chauffeuring, which allowed me to take in the scenery for a change.  It turned out my only chance to do this as after the meeting and on the way back from Genk it was wall to wall meetings, so for virtually the two plus hours back I was sat on the phone.
Upon arrival back at the hotel I was just in time to do two further meetings before at 6.30 p.m. I down tools and both I and my Belgium colleague went for a walk into the centre.
It was a really pleasant evening and as usual a brass band was playing and it became a game of guess that tune whilst we sat and listened.  It is surprising how many tunes are played and you have to sing the words before the title comes to you.  That happened for me when the band played Gold by Spandau Ballet,  as the part of the song comes where you sing Gold, in my head I kept thinking Fame.  Goodness knows why, anyway got there in the end.
I must admit after a very bad start and what was a wrong turn the first time I ventured out in Luxembourg the city is a really nice place.  There are plenty of shops in the modern town area and then when you hit the old town the architecture and squares are really nice.  Of course, like a lot of Europe the streets are very clean with no rubbish to be seen anywhere and with the large churches towering above you at almost every turn then it is nice to walk through on a warm summer evening.  It was just a shame last night was damn cold.  So at about 9.00 p.m. we started our journey back and after a little bit of work when I got back, I called it a night before midnight which was nice for a change.
