Day 81 - Luxembourg - Free Coffee for all

Day 81 of the travel blog sees me back at Birmingham Airport for the beginning of quite a busy week.  The itinerary and this is printed purely for the benefit of my family who have not bothered to ask this week where I am going.  In fact I was talking about something that I had written about in the blog last week and was told, “Oh we don’t look at it that much as were a bit busy as well”.
So I suppose this is on the off chance that someone looks and they wonder, oh where is dad this week.  Well Monday (today) I am Luxembourg bound with the plan to return to the UK Tuesday night after my site presentation.  Wednesday then sees me leave Stanstead for Oviedo Airport in Spain where I am due for a meeting on Thursday afternoon, hopefully with a view to kicking off some work at another site.  I have to admit to being quite excited about the Spanish part of the week as I have only been to Spain once before and that was to a place called Tarragona and whilst I am sure it must be a lovely place, my experience of a pretty bad hotel and then a bad week at work meant that I was not all that happy by the time I left and since then have not had a need to return.  So this trip to the North West and the fact that the area looks really nice on the t’internet.
But back to today and it is Birmingham to Lux via Munich as no matter how hard I look the only direct flights seem to be from Heathrow and not any cheaper than going via another airport and the travel is less to the airport and the parking cheaper so I suppose a no brainer.
The added benefit of this week is that I have three UK colleagues to share the journeys and having someone with you always makes it a bit better.
The journey from Birmingham to Munich was apparently one hour forty but as I spent a lot of asleep it didn’t feel like that, the problem came when it was time to change planes to get to Luxembourg.  The wait at Munich was quite a few hours, with the only highlight was the free coffee on offer to Lufthansa customers.  So many many coffees later we boarded the plane and just an hour later was deposited outside of Lux airport.  By the time we assembled in reception it was 8.00 p.m. and after a brief meeting to discuss the work tomorrow we headed into the centre for a look around and for the team to have a coke or two.  We really looked rock and roll all sat watching the brass band, drinking coke and diet cokes.  By the time 10:00 p.m. came we had all enjoyed the band enough and walked back to the hotel.
A few more emails sent and it is now time for bed.

Night All.
