It has been a day of beautiful sunshine and a day when you love being outside basking in that warmth. There wasnt a cloud in the sky at least none I could see through the window. I strolled out of the hotel this morning thinking, I am going to have to get out for a lunchtime 15 minute walk at least and between my meetings I had it planned and got as far as locking my PC and heading out of the office. I was about 15 yards away from the office when my phone rang and I was needed on another call and that was it, lunch was over and that beautiful sunshine had to carry on without me.
The day wasnt as frantic has as the last couple so I was able to keep my head above water until it was time to leave the office at 6.15p.m. and head into Kings Cross for my train. Even though that means I have to stand there for about 20 minutes I dont like to be any later as I hate rushing up at the last minute.
Even though I have to still work tomorrow from home, going home on a Thursday night does make it feel like I am approaching the weekend. No matter what Friday brings, I am already at home and when (I would like to say shut down my laptop but normally I just take it downstairs to answer any late mails that come in) I go downstairs then for me the weekend has begun.
It was the just the train journey to come and that gave me very little to talk about. I boraded the train, sat in my seat, plugged in my earphones and chilled to some music. I spent the next one and a half hours looking out of the window. The only thing I could remark on was the number of solar panels I saw in fields, I am not sure if it is just because I have started to think about them that I notice them more and more, but I sweare there are more and more fields being moved over to harvesting electric from the sun.
I arrived at Doncaster and with that bit of warmth still in the air it was nice to sit on the platform and watch the trains thundering through the staion. The Goole train arrived and me and my fellow travellers, most of whom seem to be going to a night shift in Thorne travelled our way through the darkening skies. That could be part of a book. At this point I will mention that I am in the throws of my last edit for my new book, The Stag Party, where four guys embark on a stag party to the Czech Republic but there is an uderlying problem that needs to be sorted.
Back to my travel and my last venture after I arrive home is to Tesco to see what items they have on the recduced section and tonight's forray resulted in a little bag of goodies, firstly I got some flowers for the wife for 10p, then some bread baps, a bread rolls and finally I got some lamb kidneys that my wife can cook up for the dog, all for the grand price of 25p. I consider that enough to spend at Tesco on an evening and it will help Tesco move back into profit. Every little helps.
Night All
