Day 18 - London - A tour of the stars.

Today started off a little different with not been able to go to the office, there were some technical difficulties and that meant there was no internet and without that I cannot work, amazing how that one thing can stop a whole office from working.  So I had to spend the morning working in the hotel room, it was so hard but we have to live with these hardships.
My Plymouth colleague was down today as well as my Chorley colleague so the plan was to work together and then go out tonight, which I had a special plan and more will be divulged later.  Although for the reader it will be about five lines later.
My arrival time at the office was 2.00 p.m. as the network had become live by that time and although I was in the office for only 4 hours it still felt like a full day.  But it was soon over and plans were made to meet at St Pancras Premier Inn at 7.00 p.m.
The first sight on the walk was the Black Books exterior, basically the place where the outside shots were taken for the comedy series called Black Book.  An unimpressed Plymouth colleague continued onward.
After picking up Chorley colleague and also meeting Reading colleague we headed off to place number two to show them which was the place where they film the exterior shots for 221b Baker St and of course Sherlock.  As they cannot film near the real Baker Street due to the road being too busy they film just near Euston Station. So with that done I gave the group some time off and they were entertained at the Euston Tap pub but after one drink enough was enough and we moved for some dinner and as we did we said goodbye to Reading colleague who left for home.
Here we have Sherlock's filming location

After dinner and much frantic searching for a voucher so we could get our meal cheaper we headed on the tube to Earls Court and with a little check on Google maps it was off to Logan Place and the former home of Freddie Mercury, outside the building is a wall that has been used as a shrine to Freddie and people have placed messages to him and saying how much pleasure he has given them.  It was quite sad in a way.  I did a little bit of research and there is a recording studio there where a number of later albums were recorded by Queen including Barcelona.
This is the wall that is dedicated to the messages to Freddie.  The door leading to his former garden

We then continued to the next venue with was the Hansome Cab pub and the pub owned by Piers Morgan and his brother.  It was nice place but very quiet tonight with only the odd couple in.  There was no sign of Piers but I assume he is a busy dude.
We then walked passed the Armenian Embassy at which time I now had two uninterested colleagues.  But I suppose when you have given them Sherlock, Freddie and then Piers, the Armenian Embassy does leave a little to be desired.
The next step was to get to both the Royal Institute of Navigation but there seem to be no signs to it, I suppose if you belong, you don’t need signs and then to the former home of Benny Hill, but unfortunately it was already nearing 11:00 p.m. so I made the bold decision to get the tube back to the hotel so as not to risk missing the last train.
Back at the hotel I was happy with the route and the things seen and already in my mind planning the next one which I would love to give some clues but it would be a shame in case any of my work colleagues read this and the surprise is spoilt, or rather they read about it and decide they will avoid me like the plague.
So with the time going on for midnight, it is
Oh and one final thing, 12,270 steps, wow broken my record

Night All.
