Day 21 - More trains than you can shake a stick at

My long weekend at home went quicker than the short ones, I am sure about that.  So today it was back on the road day and the normal walk down to Goole station to get the 8.18 to Doncaster.  This was done with no issues apart from the blooming cold, and boy was it cold this morning, with frost visible on the pavements.  Stood on Doncaster station also gave me my fair share of cold as the various trains thundered through the station this way and that.  Finally I got onto my Grand Central train and was chugging through the countryside before we ground to a complete halt.  About five minutes later still sat and wondering whether to engage in conversation with the people around me but deciding against this plan, the conductor appraised us of the situation over the intercom system.  Basically a point had failed just south of St Neots and we were in a queue of 5 trains waiting for the now in attendance crew to fix it.  To cut a long story short we were moving again some 25 minutes later although slower than normal.  We arrived at Kings cross some 37 minutes late which meant I had to high tail it out of the station, to the office and just made it in time for my first meeting of the day.
Later in the afternoon I thought that I would check the Grand Central website as you can now get confirmation for late trains as the train company themselves claim it from Network Rail.  However this train company do not give compensation until it is an hour late at least.  So whilst they coin it is from Network Rail they don’t pass any on.  Makes me wonder if in the head offices they high five each other when this happens at it makes the company money.
Princess from Festiniog Railway

Once at Kings Cross I noticed an exhibit in the station and it was an advert for the Festiniog railway in Wales.  Not the best thing to advertise when you have just come of a late train and now rushing to work.  I did take the time to grab a quick picture as the train they had for the exhibit did look really good.  It was called Princess, not sure if it is a real train for just one they keep for advertisements.
Eventually it was after 5.00 so I made my way to the hotel deciding to finish any work off at the hotel.  I got my room allocated and have once again been given an exec room which is much bigger than the others I have had, this has a single sofa chair, couch and a bed.  There is plenty of room between all the furniture so a much bigger room.  Therefore I decided as I have no colleagues here, I will stay put tonight and listen to Hull City on the radio and hopefully listen to the win and go three points clear at the top of the Championship.
Also when I am staying in I like to run myself a hot bath and relax watching some you tube videos, so I did that before the match.  I suppose you could say I had a real relaxing evening.  I know how to spoil myself.
With not much happening tonight I will say

Goodnight All
