Other than that the day has been pretty standard with a couple of walks around the stations before I left work at 6.00 p.m. and got back to the hotel in time to get changed before my Selby colleague arrived and we set off for a walk down to Covent Garden The problem with Covent Garden is that I always find it a bit of a let down. I seem to always expect it to be really good but when I get there is is never as expected. So soon after we a arrived we continued to walk south to the river next to London Bridge. From there we walked down to Westminster and finally to a little pub that sold fish and chips.
After been suitable refreshed we decided to walk on to Westminster abbey the last time I was here was after I had walked down in the pouring rain so this time I thought I would do the same now that the weather was much nicer.
It was after 9.00 p.m. so it was time to start to head back but rather than go strait to Westminster tube station we walked past Downing Street and onto Trafalgar Square. It was there that we got a surprise and London had decided to project two Belgium flags onto the National Gallery building. A really nice touch. Not many people about when we were there but that could have been due to the time.
It was getting to 10.00 p.m. so we headed underground and to the tube to get back to the hotel avoiding the Piccadilly Line as that was now on strike for the next 24 hours.
Back at the hotel it is time to update the blog via the iPad which is not that easy and the photos I have done will have to wait til tomorrow when I get back to work and can use a real laptop.
So for now it is time for
Night all
