Day 41 - World War Time.

Day 41 was one very full day. I seem to do a heck of a lot and that was also with fitting in work.  You have to remember that I actually come down here to do a job but sometimes it seems I spend more time doing stuff than working but I promise I do work hard (honestly)
Lunchtime was the only I time I got out of the office and with the weather positively beautiful with the sun shining and the temperature being quite warm it was nice to look for a new route.  In my books we have blooming freezing, freezing, blooming cold, cold, not bad, quite nice, quite warm, and blooming hot.  So my Selby colleague and I walked north toward the canal and along the canal side for a few minutes until we found some road and then followed that until a left turn and then a left turn and another left turn returned us to the canal side.  Feel free to follow those directions as I am sure you will not get lost.
With the sun shining everything look lovely but the whole route only took about 30 minutes so we finished off lunch by doing a quick lap of the station and then into Starbucks for a coffee, I did put a pic on my twitter account and you can follow me at @malrob01.
In the afternoon my Girvan, Wigan and Selby colleagues and I had a quick chat about the evening and we checked a few websites and low and behold we found some cheap seats at the War of the Worlds musical.  £16.50 was the price and thought it was not bad for a show of that quality.
We agreed to meet in my hotel at 6.15 p.m. which would then give us time to walk to the theatre and pick up the tickets.  6.15 p.m. came and my Selby and Girvan colleague were waiting for me whilst the Wigan colleague decided he wanted to travel by Boris Bike and spent thirty minutes riding around London before joining us at the theatre entrance at 6.45 p.m.  The rest of us had a lovely walk through warm London streets and after meeting up with Wigan and getting our tickets we went into a small pub just across from the being built Tottenham Court Road Tube Station.
On route to the theatre and as we walked through Bloomsbury my Selby colleague pointed out that we had just walked past comedian John Bishop, I quickly turned and saw the back view of him walking away from us but unfortunately not the front view or chance enough to get a photo of him, front or back.
At 7.10 p.m. we headed to the theatre as we wanted to be in the seats as early as possible so we could feel the ambiance of the place filling up around us.  Then as the auditorium went dark we quickly moved over to the not so cheap seats as there was plenty of empty seats around us and got a far better view than we were going to get.
A quick look at the cast list for the show this evening.

The show was really good, quite visual with so much going on, it was hard to take it all in, probably one of those shows that if you watch it again then you would see plenty of things you had missed the first time.  Also as a bonus David Essex and Jimmy Nail starred in the show and to top that they whole musical score was conducted by Jeff Wayne.
The show finished just after 10 p.m. so we walked again through warm London streets back to my hotel, as it is first on the route and had a final drink in the pub next door.
All in all it was a great evening which had been proceeded by a pretty good day.  Hitting the room I was shattered but still decided to make a cup of tea and attempt 5 minutes of the crossword.  Being so tired I made little inroad and decided my time would be spent better getting some sleep.

Roll on Thursday when it is going home day already and only one day off the weekend.  These weeks seem to be flying by and cannot believe we are already halfway through April
