It was pack day so the usual trek across London with my case and the wall of death to cross Euston Road near Kings Cross with about 15,000 people all crossing toward me at the same time.
But more importantly lunch time gave my Selby colleague and I a chance to get out and have a walk. This time we headed north and toward the University and the Canal that one way of it goes towards Camden Town. We had decided that we were going to walk along the towpath for as long as time would allow. We passed St Pancras Lock and there we saw these little guys
They looked so cute
We bid farewell to the ducks and carried onward past some very nice apartment buildings or flats if you come from the north. Eventually we came to a road bridge and decided, as our for fathers before us had done, to abandon the canal and move to the road.
The road led us back toward Kings Cross via St Pancras hospital and I have to admit never knowing there was a St Pancras hospital. Eventually we got back to the East side of St Pancras station and we decided we had time for a coffee so walk through with the plan to go to Costa. On our way through my colleague suddenly got all excited and pointed out we had just walked past Jonathan Rice, and actor from such things as James Bond Tomorrow Never Dies, Pirates of the Caribbean where he played Elizabeth Swan's father and of course Game of Thrones. I managed to turn around and see the back of him but it was enough to be suitable star struck but not quick enough to get the phone out for a pic.
We settled down in Costa, looking out over Euston Road and spend two minutes trying to think of other films he had been in, as we know there are many but couldn't.
After coffee it was back to work and I had plenty to do before I was due to leave on the 4.03 from Kings Cross.
I arrived at the station in good time to see that my train was delayed by an hour due to some poor person having been struck by a train, so not matter how inconvenienced you are, some poor devil is having a worse day. When the train was further delayed to 5.30 p.m. I managed to get agreement from a guard on Virgin East Coast to allow me to join his train and stand all the way to Doncaster. Normally I leave on the 18.50 and get home around 21.45, today I planned to leave on the 16.03 and got home at 20.45 so not much earlier really. Anyway at least I was home safe and sound and ready for one more day of work before the weekend.
But back to the unboxing of the goodybag and here is the link to You tube so please feel free to have a look and you are not allowed to criticise my presenting in any way, so forget that straight away. I do not believe there is a thing called constructive criticism there is only destructive criticism and I now have the record for the number of times you can put the word criticise in a blog.
Thanks and more updates next week when back in the metropolis of London
