Day 52 - A gentle stroll

The night was a bad one, I think I suffered from first night hotel bed again which is basically where I cannot sleep the first night and lay awake for ages arguing with the pillows because they are never right no matter how many I use or where I put them.
So I awoke Wednesday, groggy, but today was going to be a special day, special in that finally after 7 weeks of waiting my new laptop was going to be here and no more would I have to try and make do with my broken one which had no screen.  I was so excited.
So much was my excitement that after a couple of morning meetings I took the chance to visit the techie guys and ask if it was ready yet and as normal they had not started it but as I had my eager eyes in they felt my pity and started it.
It was four hours and one walk around the stations later when I went up to visit and whilst it had finished putting the operating system on nothing else happened so I decided to sit there and do the rest of the configuration myself, copying data, settings and setting up internet apps that I needed.  It took a couple of hours but it did mean it was ready and i could take it away with me.  The time given to working on my new laptop meant that I was a little behind and stayed at work until after 7.00 p.m. to catch up.  I did think about continuing at the hotel but my Nottingham colleague turned up at the hotel and we decided to have a leisurely stroll down to Tottenham Court Road, along Oxford Street, down to Leicester Square and then further down to Charing Cross.  We partook of refreshment at Little Frankies and once we departed had a short walk toward Embankment before I bailed and decided I was tired and we tubed it back to Russel Square.  The night was still very humid and the underground system was very hot.  I crashed into my room at almost 11:00 p.m. and with brief moment to stroke my laptop and wish it its first good night in my care, I hit the bed for a very good sleep.
A short blog today but it was more of calm after the storm of Tuesday.
